Scalp-First Hair Care
Your Scalp Is Living Skin
It has its own microbiome, its own pH, its own barrier. When that environment weakens, everything that grows from it suffers: thinning, breakage, lack of shine, excess oil.
Most hair care brands formulate for the hair fiber—coating it with silicones and short-term solutions. We treat the organ from which hair grows. Every Tara formula is designed to first restore the scalp's environment, so stronger, thicker, more resilient hair is the result—not a promise.
We don't repair hair. We create the conditions for extraordinary hair to grow.
Our Formulation Principles
Three Standards. Each Formula.
01
Effective Dosage
Each active ingredient is included at the concentration necessary to deliver its benefit. We don't list ingredients for label appeal—we dose them for measurable results. When we say rosemary, we mean rosemary at levels documented to support scalp microcirculation.
02
Complementary Mechanisms
Each product combines a botanical extract with a clinical active ingredient because they act through different biological pathways. The botanical extract addresses the scalp's environment. The active ingredient targets a specific cellular outcome. Together, they achieve the same goal from two directions.
03
Scalp-First Sequence
We formulate in biological order: first the scalp environment (barrier, comfort, microbial balance), then the health of the follicle (anchoring, growth phase), and finally the integrity of the hair fiber (cortex strength, cuticle protection). The sequence matters as much as the ingredients.
What does the "+" mean?
Two Routes. One Result.
Effective Botanical
Validated plant extracts—selected for documented activity, not commercial appeal. They address the underlying environment: antioxidant protection, anti-inflammatory support, and nutrient delivery to the follicle.
+
Advanced Asset
Clinical-grade actives — peptide complexes, ceramides, encapsulated vitamins, NMF — that target specific molecular results: follicular anchoring, barrier repair, keratin reinforcement.
The "+" in each product name represents a deliberate formulation decision. Neither the botanical nor the active ingredient alone is sufficient. Together, they address the need from complementary biological angles.
The Tara Method
Diagnose. Treat. Maintain.
01
Diagnose
Every hair problem has a cause in the scalp. Oily roots? Overactive sebaceous glands. Flaking? Compromised barrier function. Loss of density? Follicular stress. Identify the real problem first.
02
Treat
Apply targeted formulas to the scalp with ingredients that address the root cause—botanicals and active ingredients combined in concentrations that work. When the scalp environment improves, stronger hair is the result.
03
Keep
Scalp health is ongoing, not just a one-off. Maintain a balanced environment with consistent routines designed to support barrier function, hydration, and long-term follicular support.
